There has been a lot of buzz recently about the Fantex IPO offering for Houston Texans’ running back Arian Foster.
The story may have just hit the mainstream news, but athletes and entertainers have been allowing others to profit from their future earnings for years. For example, Michael Jackson and his estate have sold various licensing rights to several major companies for massive profits.
Foster’s situation is unique because it’s going public, with Fantex planning to sell about 1 million shares in Foster at $10 a share.
