Ambassador Jack Brewer to Join the U.N. Secretary General and Various Heads of State to Speak at Int
MINNEAPOLIS, MN, July 10, 2015 - The Brewer Group (TBG), an industry agnostic holding company with assets ranging numerous sectors, is pleased to announce that Founder and CEO Ambassador Jack Brewer will be speaking today at the International Ebola Recovery Conference at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Ambassador Brewer will talk about the contributions of The Brewer Group and its partners during the emergency phase of the Ebola response, and highlight TBG’s future engagement in the recovery effort.
The purpose of the International Ebola Recovery Conference is to focus international attention on the specific need of targeted investments for the three countries most affected by the current Ebola outbreak, Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with the ultimate goal of, “getting to zero and staying at zero”. The Ebola Recovery Assessment (ERA), led by the United Nations, will identify what elements are required for immediate recovery as well as identify conditions necessary to minimize the risk of its resurgence. Ambassador Brewer will focus on how collaborative solutions within the private and public sector can aid in the humanitarian crisis and how investors can contribute in an impactful way.
Ambassador Brewer explains, “Getting to zero cases of Ebola is a major hurdle to overcome, but we must also plan on how we are going to rebuild the industry and infrastructure of Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia. This is an opportunity to build the framework for how this and future situations are addressed.” He goes on to say, “My organization will continue to work as facilitators of this infrastructural development by helping to re-establish and improve the vital agricultural industry, by supporting medical as well as water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects, and by ensuring that educational platforms are made available to those in need.”
Ambassador Brewer will be joined at this at this two day event by the U.N. Secretary General, Heads of State of Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone; high-level representatives of the African Union, the European Union, the African Development Bank, and the World Bank; representatives from the private sector, private foundations, and civil society organizations; as well as many others.
