JBF Worldwide Hosts Sport 4 Development Summit at the United Nations and Global Ambassadors Trip to

New York, NY, March 31, 2016- The Jack Brewer Foundation and the Permanent Mission of Grenada to the United Nations are honored to present Brewer Sports Symposium VIII featuring the Sport 4 Development Summit on April 6th, 2016 from 3:00-6:00pm recognizing International Day for Sport for Development and Peace at the United Nations.

The Sport 4 Development Summit aims to raise awareness for the benefit of using sport as a catalyst for developmental change and peace around the world and the tools that the United Nations and JBF Worldwide provide to do so. The summit will aim to create opportunities for synergies and partnerships between the sports community, NGO community and United Nations community to foster new development projects and ideas.

Some key attendees include National Football League (NFL) defensive end Carlos Dunlap and 'Orange is the New Black' actress Dascha Polanco. Other confirmed attendees include current and former NFL players Jack Brewer, Charles Way, Tommie Harris, EJ Manuel, Sergio Brown, Sidney Rice, Clinton Portis, and Santana Moss.The event will honor accomplishments made by governments, NGOs and current and former professional athletes using sport as a tool to educate and foster social change.

Following the Sport 4 Development Summit, JBF Worldwide will travel with their 2016 Global Ambassadors Delegation to Haiti to continue their mission to “empower from within”. The delegation will travel to Haiti from April 7th-11th and will participate in a full itinerary of philanthropic endeavors alongside organizations like The Haiti Initiative and Project Medishare as well as a celebrity softball match with NFL greats.

The JBF Worldwide Global Ambassadors attending this year’s Haiti trip will include NFL Pro Bowler and Man of the Year Winner Carlos Dunlap, 2015 Miss Puerto Rico Genesis Perez, Co - Star of the Award Winning "Orange is the New Black" Dascha Polanco, Super Bowl Champions Reggie Bush and Jeremy Shockey as well as "Director of Vibes" YesJulz!

The trip is part of JBF Worldwide's Global Ambassadors Program, which aims to connect influential individuals to philanthropic organizations while traveling the world to make positive impacts in communities. The trip promotes our ongoing efforts in Haiti, which include:

  • Funding a nationwide cervical cancer program estimated to save over 3000 lives a year

  • Supporting 500 orphans through our Holiday Giving Program

  • Completing donation and construction of the nation's first baseball field

  • Hosted Starkey Hearing Foundation Mission, provided the gift of hearing to over 3000 people
